Who runs Bloom
Bloom is run by a father who wanted to know what is in everything his family eats, puts on their skin and sleeps on. Labels rarely make that easy, so he started doing the research, and Bloom is that research, shared.
Bloom is made by OBTO, which builds and hosts it.
How products are chosen: the Bloom Standard
- At least 1,000 Amazon ratings. The bar is never lowered.
- The full ingredient or material list is published, so anyone can check it.
- Food and drinks are organic by nature. Fabrics carry a named organic certification such as GOTS.
- Personal care, baby care, supplements and household products are held to a clean-formula standard: no synthetic fragrance, parabens, phthalates, formaldehyde releasers, petrochemicals, silicones, artificial colours or the rest of the flag list.
- One product per product type. When two pass, a named organic certification wins first, then the shorter, cleaner list, then the number of ratings.
- Nobody pays to be listed, and nobody can pay to rank higher.
An automated checker reads each new product's listing, extracts the facts and applies these rules; code decides, and the AI only extracts facts. Every listed product is checked again on a schedule, and a product that stops passing comes off the list. Each product page shows the date it was last verified. Facts come from the listing; always check the label on your pack.
How Bloom earns
Bloom is free, with no sign-up. Two things pay for the hosting and the AI:
- Amazon links. As an Amazon Associate, Bloom earns from qualifying purchases, at no extra cost to you.
- Ads (Google AdSense), which load only after you allow them in the privacy choices.
Neither one decides which product is listed or how it ranks.
How AI is used
AI reads product listings and labels and extracts facts; Bloom's rules make the decision. Blog posts are drafted with AI from the sources cited on each post, and pass automatic checks for sources and claims before they publish. Bloom explains labels, ingredients and certifications.
